The IPAD is an extremely useful tool for helping children develop skills. A variety of free apps are designed to help with learning, behavior, and/or language development. There are also several apps specifically created with children with autism in mind.
I particularly love the “Choice Board Creator” which lets children with communication difficulties pick what they want by looking at and touching their choice. See an example below.
Here is a list of 78 free IPAD Apps. Although the list is presented as though the apps are for children with special needs, many of the apps could be utilized to promote learning in any any child, such as the 14 Basic Skills Apps.
